ABOUT ME

Website Cover Letter

I would love to introduce myself as an Automotive and Transport Design graduate with a passion for creating meaningful experiences.

Moving abroad at eighteen to study Automotive and Transport Design at Coventry University gave me far more than a degree. It taught me independence, adaptability, and a type of confidence that has shaped both my design process and the way I approach professional environments. My year in industry at Lear Corporation strengthened those qualities further, teaching me how to communicate ideas clearly, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ask thoughtful questions, and develop solutions under real project constraints.

My experience at Lear helped me integrate engineering principles into my design process, enabling a more technically informed approach to design. Learning to understand things like tolerancing and cost efficiency at Lear gave me a great foundational structure to create things with strength, proportion, and logic. My favorite part of the design process is receiving feedback from engineers and solving issues based on the balance between functionality and aesthetics.

I am highly engaged with the latest advancements in the automotive industry. For instance, battery architecture is transforming vehicle proportions and creating completely new possibilities for packaging. We are redefining how people occupy space; newly developed H-points, evolving windshield angles, and refined steering wheel positioning. We are changing how we interact with technology, and how we emotionally connect to a vehicle. To me, this is one of the most exciting moments in automotive design history, and one that I am eager to contribute to.

The collaboration between designers, UX, HMI, CMF and engineering represents exactly the kind of multidisciplinary environment I enjoy. I am inspired by the challenge of designing products that feel intuitive, emotionally engaging, and relevant to the people who will use them every day.

Growing up on race tracks in Michigan, my passion for automotive design was shaped by extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with motorsport. I am excited by the possibility of bringing my curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm into a design studio while continuing to learn from experienced designers.
